We’re back with another installment of Ecko Studio Sessions. This time young Roc Nation artist Casey Veggies rolls through the Ecko Studios for the day to lay some tracks with producer Lee Bannon.
Casey Veggies is a 19-year-old solo artist from Inglewood California with a career path as impressive as his lyricism. Originally one of the founding members of California hip hop group OFWGKTA, at the ambitious age of 14, Veggies decided to pursue a solo career. Still enrolled in High School, he released his first mixtape Customized Greatly Vol. 1 that quickly catapulted his career. Without losing sight of his priorities Casey juggled touring, playing varsity basketbal, and a full academic High School course load with ease. ”It was crazy, because I had went on tour with Mac Miller and we were gone for like two weeks and I got on temporary independent studies, and I got a big packet of work,” Veggies speaks, “I’m focused. This is my first tour, and I got to focus in on making this transition and I got to do this packet of work. It was definitely a challenge, but I was just in the car working on stuff from city to city, just doing stuff slowly.”
Currently graduated with academic honors, Casey made the decision to put higher education on hold to pursue his budding rap career. “At the end of the day, I’m just dreaming right now,” Casey said. “I’m going to stay in my dream and don’t plan on waking up. If I do, maybe I’ll grab a college degree, but right now, I’m in my own world.” Signed to Roc Nation with 5 mixtapes and a full length debut album under his belt, Casey preps for his latest project “Life Changes” set to release January 22nd of this year. From the words of Mr. Veggies himself; “You can say I made it.” The entire world is currently in Casey Veggies hands, this smart young man with a bright fucking future.
